Homelessness in rural communities is hidden. Due to local services and the small size of our communities, it is not initially visible. Instead, homelessness in Haliburton County takes the form of couch surfing, sleeping in cars or living in substandard housing.

There are no conditions related to family makeup in our application process. Places for People currently houses 6 families and one single person. Our last renovation represents our first one-bedroom unit and our future plans include a number of one- and two-bedroom units as these are in very high demand across the county.
